Quicksilver's technologically advanced Wavepiercers ensure that your cruise to the Outer Reef is pure enjoyment from the moment you step aboard. Relax in the luxury of the spacious air-conditioned cabin areas with fully licensed bar, or sit outside and enjoy the cool sea breezes.
Floating like an island in a coral sea, the modern, dual level platforms provide the ultimate in facilities for reef viewing and relaxation in all weather and wind conditions.
Situated on the very edge of the Great Barrier Reef, Agincourt Reef provides a sheltered anchorage for the Quicksilver vessel and the prefect spot for passengers to snorkel, dive, and view the spectacular coral formations from the semi submersible coral viewing vessel. You can also watch the fish feeding from Quicksilver's unique viewing platform and underwater observatory.
The platforms have tables for you to enjoy lunch, undercover seating, fresh water showers and change rooms to allow you to enjoy your day. There is also a water powered lift to allow easy access for all passengers.
Agincourt Reef lies within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and World Heritage Area. The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most diverse and delicate ecosystems in the world. The ribbon reefs north of Cairns are renowned for their excellent year round water clarity and coral formations. Agincourt Reef is the only ribbon reef on the very outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef to be visited by a day cruise operator with platform facilities.
The reef lagoon at Agincourt offers ideal swimming and snorkelling areas. For the more adventurous, scuba diving on Agincourt is amongst the best in the world. With a vast majority of the 1,500 species of multi-coloured reef fish and 400 varieties of magnificent corals, found on the Great Barrier Reef, present at Agincourt, this is truly an underwater wonderland.
If you would like to stay dry, then you can explore the stunning reef from the comfort of a Quicksilver sub. The semi submersibles cruise slowly through the colourful coral gardens giving passengers, seated just one metre underwater, the opportunity to experience a snorkellers-eye view of the marine life without getting wet.
The semi-sub experience takes approximately 25 minutes and includes an informed commentary on the marine life observed during the journey and an overview of the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. Semi-subs depart every fifteen minutes from the rear of the platform. Anouncements are made to prompt you before departure.
Underwater Observatory
You can also see the coral and watch the fish feeding from Quicksilver's unique viewing platform and underwater observatory located directly in front of the platform. From here, you can also view "first time" divers taking part in introductory dives.
Quicksilver employs a team of qualified Marine Biologists to help you unravel the mystery of this amazing living structure while preserving the reef for future generations. Part of your fare goes towards research and education to preserve and protect the Great Barrier Reef.
Whether you are a novice or experienced snorkeller, our Marine Biologists can introduce you to a new and exciting world.
Reef Biosearch biologists take small groups away from the main platform and explain the secrets of the spectacular marine life, intricate coral gardens and breathtaking drop offs. Informative and relaxed, these tours help make your reef visit one you'll always remember. The tour runs for approximately 45 minutes your snorkelling equipment is provided on board.
Let Quicksilver Helicopters show you the wonders at Agincourt Reef. Hop aboard and enjoy breathtaking views of the spectacular Outer Barrier Reef as can only be seen from the air.
