We know for some it can be a little scary to leave the ground
behind and scale the heights, but we hope you値l embrace the challenge
and feel the wonder. Our highly trained team of scientists, tour guides
and abseiling specialists will be with you every step of the way to
guide you safely through the canopy and into our treetop world.
About The Tour
On arrival at our harnessing centre, you値l meet your team
of two to five guides who値l be taking you surfing through the jungle.
Each guest will be fitted into a full body harness and helmet.
A 250m walk through the forest leads to the Exit platform, where
you値l be given a safety briefing before leaving the forest floor and
being winched one by one up to Platform 1. Jungle Surfing uses no
motors and your ascent to the first platform is completely man powered!
On each platform, a guide will greet you, connect you
safely to the tree, and introduce you to different elements of the
forest before sending you on your way to the next platform.
- From Platform 1 to 2 and from Platform 2 to 3,
you will travel in pairs a few metres apart. The guides completely
control your gentle flight, leaving you free to take photographs or
just take in the views. Midway between Platforms 2 and 3, you値l stop
briefly at the highest point of the tour, 23 metres above Mason Creek.
If you池e lucky, and visit us during wet season, this creek will be a
raging torrent of white water.
- From Platform 3 to 4, in a beautiful section of old-growth
rainforest, you値l fly solo and fast back across the creek. Don稚
forget to give us your best Tarzan cry!
- Your final flight from Platform 4 to 5 is an opportunity for
thrill seekers to try something different, and if you choose to do so,
you can flip yourself upsidedown and watch the ground beneath you speed
past.
- From Platform 5, there is a short walk back to the
harnessing centre where you値l have a brief opportunity to buy Jungle
Surfing t-shirts, souvenirs and drinks before departing the property.
The tour itself takes around 1.5-2 hours from pick-up to drop
off, and you値l spend around 1-1.25 hours up in the trees, with plenty
of time on each platform to experience the forest environment.
Tour Departures
Jungle Surfing tours depart Cape Tribulation Pharmacy at 7:45am,
8:45am, 9:45am, 10:45am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm every day
except Christmas Day.
We offer courtesy transfers from all accommodation in Cape
Tribulation. Tours and transfers are streamlined by resort, so please
check below to see which tours are available from your accommodation
before booking.
Self drivers should meet at Cape Tribulation Pharmacy five minutes before the pick up time.
